Submarine Veteran’s Memorial, King’s Bay, Georgia
November 20th, 2008
I promised to post some pictures on here from our recent trip down south… So here’s the first post!
Two weekends ago, Dad, Tyler, and I went to King’s Bay, Georgia, where we met up with my Grampa, two uncles, and one cousin. We were privileged to attend the annual submarine veterans memorial service that takes place at the Naval Submarine Base King’s Bay, which was a really neat time. Grampa served on a submarine during the Korean War (due to Geneva convention rules, submarines were barred from any aggressive actions during the war, though… the North Koreans didn’t have subs).

There was a fancy dinner for all of the attendees… Fun!

The group of subvets gathered together. Many, if not most, of them are veterans from the second world war.

Tyler and Dylan both went swimming at the hotel… They didn’t stay in for long, though, as the water was a bit frigid.
